It does not necessarily reflect the view of The Herald. POLICE are cracking down on reports of a spike in anti-social behaviour in a Warrington village. Residents living in Culcheth have reported a rise in incidents of misbehaviour over recent weeks, prompting Cheshire Police to take action. Officers have secured a portable CCTV camera in a bid to capture incidents and identify those responsible. Anyone who experiences anti-social behaviour is urged to report it, while parents are being told to ensure that they know what their children are up to when out. The force’s Warrington East Police team said: “Cheshire Police has installed a temporary, portable CCTV camera in response to ongoing reports of anti-social behaviour in the area. “The camera has been deployed following concerns raised by residents, and it will remain in place for a period of time to monitor the location and capture any incidents that may occur. “The aim of the camera is not to catch people out, but to provide reassurance to the community and help to protect those who have been affected by persistent anti-social behaviour. “The footage may also assist officers in identifying those responsible for criminal or disruptive behaviour and support any necessary investigations. “Neighbourhood officers continue to work closely with the community to address concerns, and we encourage residents to report any incidents of anti-social behaviour. “Every report helps to build a clearer picture of what is happening and enables the police to take appropriate action. “Cheshire Police remains committed to making communities safer and ensuring that residents feel secure in their neighbourhoods.” Officers also issued a message to parents by stating: “Please make sure that you know where your children are and what they are up to. “Officers have been working in collaboration with our partner agencies and are using the camera to identify involved individuals. “Please ensure you are not the next ones visited by the police.” If you are subjected to any form of anti-social behaviour, report it by calling 101 or visiting cheshire.police.uk Crime Culcheth Share 0 Comments Get involved with the news Send your news & photos Loading...
