Police are investigating after what sounded like gunshots were reported at a house on Doeford Close, Culcheth, at around 10.30pm yesterday, Tuesday.
Officers found that a number of ball bearings had been fired at the front of the property, damaging a window and a door. Thankfully, nobody was injured, although being told that this was an isolated incident is unlikely to make a damaged front door feel especially reassuring.
Enquiries are continuing to establish exactly what happened. Police are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and saw a man wearing a dark helmet riding a motorbike to come forward.
CI Sarah Pengelly, who is in charge of policing in Warrington, said the incident was believed to be isolated and officers were working to establish the full circumstances. She added that neighbourhood officers would remain in the area over the coming days to provide reassurance, while encouraging residents with concerns to speak directly to a local officer.
