Police close Warrington road following crash involving multiple vehicles - Warrington Guardian

Warrington Road in Culcheth was closed after a three-vehicle crash on Saturday lunchtime. Thankfully, police reported no serious injuries.

Warrington Road in Culcheth had an unwelcome dose of Saturday lunchtime drama after a crash involving three vehicles brought traffic to a halt.

Cheshire Police were called shortly after 12pm on Saturday following reports of a collision on Warrington Road. When officers arrived, they found three vehicles involved: a silver Volvo XC40, a black Renault Clio, and a black Lexus.

The good news, and it is the important bit, is that there were no reports of any serious injuries. That is a relief, because bent metal is annoying, but people getting home safely matters far more than anyone's bumper, badge, or no-claims bonus.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: There were no reports of any serious injuries, but the road was closed while recovery was undertaken. The scene was cleared by 2.30pm.

Still, for anyone trying to get through Culcheth at the time, it will have been one of those classic village traffic moments where a quick trip turns into a test of patience, clutch control, and inner peace. Warrington Road is hardly famous for forgiving disruption, and a three-car crash is never going to help matters.

The original report was by Jessica Barnes for the Warrington Guardian, with the article carrying that slightly baffling publisher note about an exclusive subscriber partnership with USA Today and sister title The Herald. Very grand for a local road closure, but there we are, Culcheth has apparently gone international.
