A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car on Jackson Avenue in Culcheth on Wednesday afternoon.
Cheshire Police said officers were called at around 3.40pm on Wednesday 24 June following reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a woman, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. That is the sort of sentence nobody in Culcheth wants to read, especially when it concerns a residential road many of us pass without a second thought.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: At around 3.40pm on Wednesday 24 June police were called to reports of a collision on Jackson Avenue, Culcheth.
They added: The collision involved a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a woman, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
There is no room for point-scoring or village gossip here. The priority is the woman’s condition and the facts established by the authorities. Still, it is a stark reminder that our quieter Culcheth roads are not immune from serious incidents, and complacency behind the wheel is never a charming local trait.
The original report also carried a rather odd note about an exclusive subscriber partnership with USA Today, which feels a touch transatlantic for Jackson Avenue, but the core facts remain local, serious, and important.
