Culcheth Village Club is hosting a properly entertaining afternoon on Sunday 4 October 2026, as comedy veteran Roy Walker joins his son Phil Walker for Meet the Walkers With Roy & Phil Walker.
Roy, the famously dry wit and longtime supporter of CQAF, remains best known to ITV viewers as the host of Catchphrase. His deadpan delivery has aged rather better than most television game shows, and he is still regarded as one of Britain's driest comedians.
Phil Walker brings a rather different sort of experience to the stage. Since winning City Life Comedian Of the Year, his career has taken him to some wonderfully unlikely venues, from a scout hut on the Shetland Isles to a porta-cabin on Mount Alice in the Falklands. That is quite a CV, and proof that comedy can thrive almost anywhere, provided the audience has survived the seating.
Together, Roy and Phil will share memories, life stories and plenty of laughs. The father-and-son format promises warmth as well as comedy, which is a welcome change from events that seem to think shouting counts as entertainment.
Doors open at 1pm, with the show starting at 2pm. Tickets cost £25. It is an appealing booking for anyone after an afternoon of familiar television charm, sharp observations and family banter at Culcheth Village Club.
